My Love Don’t Cross That River

sound sculpture set (mild steel, vibrators)

200 x 100 x 80cm; 170 x 100 x 90cm

2022-23

A twisted walker, a rusty medical bed with a moveable side tail. A set of daily equipment for the elder people under care are bent, built, and welded by the artist herself. Without original functions, the forms merge with deseased bodies and become the recreation of memories and reflections on the act of caring.

Multiple vibrators are inserted into the sculptures, remaining invisible and resonat-

ing with the steel tubes. By adjusting the different vibration modes, they transform into booming musical instruments.

The sculptures will become a part of stage performance in the near future.
